Rubini graduated from University of London with LLB (Hons) in 1999 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice in 2000. In December 2000, she commenced pupilage in the chambers of Mr T Kasinathan of Messrs A Zahari Kanapathy Thulasi. Upon being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, Rubini was employed as a Legal Assistant at Messrs Liza Chan & Co., where she remained for a period of five (5) years and became well acquainted with Hema Markandan. While at Messrs Liza Chan & Co., Rubini handled a variety of civil litigation matters including and not limited to uncontested and contentious Probate and Letters of Administration, uncontested Divorce, Adoption and Guardianship, Distress, Debt Recovery, Constructions Claims, Winding Up and Bankruptcy matters. Rubini has also acquired much experience in dealing with employment and industrial relation matters.
Rubini is well acquainted with property conveyancing transactions and she has acquired knowledge and experience in drafting Sale & Purchase Agreements in respect of property acquisitions, Tenancy agreements, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trust Deeds. In respect of corporate agreements, Rubini has had experience drafting a myriad of corporate agreements including and not limited to trust deeds, call and put options, distribution agreements, license agreements, professional services agreement, consortium agreements and memorandums of understanding. Rubini has had experience handling project property transactions having just completed the sale and purchase transactions and related loan facilities concerning the Zenith Residences at Kelana Jaya for SMI Cityhome Sdn Bhd.
Having been motivated by the prospect of establishing and managing a partnership together with another like minded and equally motivated lawyer, Rubini teamed up with Hema to form Messrs Hema Rubini & Co on 1.5.2007. With effect from 1st September 2009, Hema Rubini & Co merged with Messrs Mathews Hun Kandiah and the result was the formation of a new entity known as Kandiah Partnership.
